Why most, if not all, World religions are exclusive? Why we cannot belong to more than one faith?
Let’s see: what else, other than religion, didn’t change in the past couple of thousand years?!
Talking about science fiction: Happy Easter!
It’s very interesting that former godless intellectuals are leaning more and more toward God, as they get older.
It’s easy to be an atheist when you’re young, healthy, and restless.
God, if exists, is a big misanthrope.
If there’s reincarnation: can I get a break before my next life? This one was sooo tiresome…
In essence, religion arose out of the human feeling of helplessness. This is also the reason for its survival today.
Paramount hypocrisy: not believing, but still hoping.
Why would I pray to a merciless God?! To save me (I don’t care about the others)? Religiosity is pure selfishness and hypocrisy.
When all their ships sink, people turn to religion. Or — they play the lotto.
God punishes arrogance.
An argument for the afterlife: if this life is all there is, it would be quite meaningless to live. Then again, who said that it shouldn’t be?
Christianity as a byproduct of Judaism?
As we grow older (and run out of answers and time), religion looks better and better. It doesn’t offer answers, but it does offer consolation.
Dear God, punish me for all my sins swiftly.
God gave a brain to a man, but with greed built in, as if to make sure that it won’t be used for any good deed.
If he were alive today, Jesus would be probably hospitalized in some mental institution.
Church destroyed Faith.
The main ideologists of all the wars could be found in churches, mosques, synagogues, etc.
Natural disasters are God’s wrath, angered that he lost control over his life’s work.
Entire human existence, according to one theory, can be explained by the need to restore a balance: if we’re hungry, we eat, if we’re thirsty, we drink, etc. However, what motivates us, what puts us in motion, is imbalance. Once we acquire a temporary balance, we become complacent and inactive. That’s why all religious descriptions of Paradise look boring.
We remember God only when we need him. He, however, always keeps an eye on us.
God only worked six days in his life. I know people who are lazier than him.
God only worked six days in his life, according to the Bible. He must have been rich.
Being a prophet (or its modern version, a meteorologist) is a very gratifying profession. Once people realize that you were dead wrong, it’s too late.
According to widespread belief, only humans can talk. To this day I’m not certain what was in God’s mind when he granted it to humans.
Formal religion was never a strong suit for me: I attribute that to my socialist-atheist upbringing, and also to the fact that there aren’t any valid, scientific proofs of anything that religion is talking about. However, I’ve always believed that human possibilities are limited, and that progress is happening in a limited sphere: there are things that weren’t given to humans to comprehend, so, we shouldn’t think, write, or contemplate about them, since it’s pointless. I believe that this is being religious, in some deeper, more intimate way.
The religious definition of the human soul was always a frustrating one for me: can’t wait for intelligent machines, to demystify it.
When God was creating the World, he didn’t have a clear idea of what he wanted to do. Something like art, I’d say.
The human moral character could be measured — among other things — by the depth of one’s religiousness. It’s hard to live in modern society, and not be religious. Either that or to be of “poor moral character”, like me.
Pre-requirement for quitting smoking is to be religious. But I’m still an agnostic.
